Relaxed family living in pretty village setting

Meadowside show home kitchen/dining

Cruden Homes have opened a new ‘pop-up’ show home at their award-winning Meadowside development in the pretty East Lothian village of Aberlady. The Fain has been carefully designed for relaxed, modern family living and now Cruden have furnished and styled this popular house type to showcase a superb five-bedroom home that’s complete and ready to move into now.

The development is already proving to be hugely popular with buyers attracted not only by the high-quality family homes available, but also by the lifestyle on offer.  Set in a picturesque location, there are plenty of activities nearby to keep families entertained, including nature reserves, beach walks and championship golf courses dotted along the 40 mile stretch of beautiful East Lothian coastline, while cafes, restaurants, festivals and fayres appeal to foodies.

The new show home is styled by design specialist Ronnie Kennedy, who described his approach: “Family friendly, Scandinavian design features throughout this super corner plot. With winter approaching we wanted to create a homely, inviting space with a welcoming blend of minimalist design, rich colours and cosy textures. Each room is enhanced with distinctive geometric harlequin wallpaper or a feature painted wall, while faux fur scatter cushions and knitted throws add pops of colour throughout. Low level lighting completes the homely feel, adding a much-needed warm glow in the dark winter afternoons.”

The impressive Fain style property has a spacious and comfortable living room that is perfect for families.  A super light-filled open plan kitchen and dining area is ideal for family mealtimes or entertaining and offers direct access to the garden. There is also ample storage downstairs and a separate practical utility and cloakroom. To the front is a bedroom that is versatile and perfect as a study, guest room or playroom.

Upstairs there is the spacious master bedroom with en-suite shower, three further bedrooms, one of which also features an en-suite shower, and a well-proportioned family bathroom. Two of the bedrooms have built-in wardrobes and there is also plenty of storage offered in the upper hallway.

Hazel Davies, sales and marketing director of Cruden Homes, said: ““We are really excited to open this new Fain show home at Meadowside, and we are sure buyers will love the space offered for both relaxing and entertaining.”

She added, “The homes are proving to be popular with families making the move from Edinburgh, just 18 miles away, attracted by the community feel in the village making it a really lovely place to live.  With the good schooling, local amenities, beaches and green open space all within easy walking distance, it really is the perfect place to raise a family.”

With prices starting at £475,000, the spacious Fain property style offers exceptional value and with all properties at Meadowside having been designed exclusively for their picturesque location, each comes with an interior specification reflecting with the top-end appeal of the development.

The spec includes designer German kitchens by Leicht featuring quality integrated appliances by Siemens. Other interior specification features include, stylish white sanitary ware from the Vitra M-Line range, chrome mixer taps and two zone heating system with programmable controls for ground and upper floors.

Within easy walking distance of the primary school and other village amenities, the development also offers an easy commute via the A1 to Edinburgh, or by train from nearby North Berwick or Longniddry stations.
