New Heswall Care Home Project Award

Cruden Construction has commenced a £6.5m extension and refurbishment contract to Trepassey Care Home for Cheshire Residential Homes Trust at Heswall, on the west side of the Wirral Peninsular.

The scheme will be undertaken in a live environment with phased construction and refurbishment elements.  The first phase comprises construction of the extension which features complex engineered substructures and a CLT (Cross Laminated Timber) superstructure, our first project utilising this solution.

The second phase will refurbish the existing care home so that when completed, all residents will enjoy a modern, bright and caring environment.  Cruden Construction’s management team will be taking great care to coordinate the works to minimise disruption to Trepassey residents and to the local community during the 117 week contract.

Trepassey is Cruden Construction’s 29th recent project in the care sector, further extending the experience, knowledge and skills in the company. It follows recent awards at Penkridge in Staffordshire where work is “progressing well” on a new Extra Care ‘Lite’ development for Housing Plus; at Didsbury, Manchester where Cruden is building its 4th Belong Care Village for Belong and the Morris Feinmann Trust and at Bicton near Shrewsbury where a £10m Extra Care development is progressing for Wrekin Housing Trust.

Cruden Construction is delighted to be working again with Architects, Tweed Nuttall Warburton; Structural and Civil Engineers, Curtins Consulting; Mechanical & Electrical Services Engineers, ESD Ltd and Project Managers/Quantity Surveyors, Thornton Firkin.
