Cruden helps Procure Partnerships raise £11,000 for leading homeless and housing charity
Cruden Team raise over £1900 for Whitechapel Centre
Cruden Group sends a huge thank you to the 10 strong team of Cruden staff who braved the elements and slept in self constructed shelters to raise funds for the Whitechapel Centre, Liverpool on Friday 11th October.
As a contractor partner on the Procure Partnerships (North West) Frameworks (PPFNW), Cruden was delighted to join other framework contractor partners and to contribute to this very worthwhile effort.
The Whitechapel Centre is a leading homeless and housing charity for the Liverpool region. They work with people who are sleeping rough, living in hostels or struggling to manage their accommodation. They are committed to help people to find and maintain a home and learn the life skills essential for independent living. In 2018-19 they worked with 4,323 people. Their projects reflect the diverse routes into and through homelessness. Offering a variety of complimentary services, in different settings, they seek to ensure no one slips through the net of support.
Kenny Humphreys, Cruden’s HSQE Manager and a champion of supporting and promoting social value initiatives throughout Cruden said: “It was a pleasure to work in collaboration with PPFNW and for so many principal contractors to come together to support such a worthwhile cause as the Whitechapel Centre. It was a truly humbling experience and heart-warming that so many people gave up their own personal time to raise awareness of the issues faced by the homeless raising much needed funds.”
The Cruden team raised an amazing £1,921 that contributed to the £11,000 raised by PPFNW, with the overall event raising £20,000 for the Whitechapel Centre. Our JustGiving page was one of the most successful of October; out of 48,737 fundraisers we were in the top 5%!
Robbie Blackhurst, Procure Partnerships Framework Director commented: “Our contractor partners do some amazing things to deliver demonstrable social value across the region. This is just latest example of what can be achieved when a group of like-minded people and organisations get together to make a real impact to the communities in which they operate in. As a framework we are delighted to support the Whitechapel Centre and know that the funds raised will go some way to support some of the most venerable people in our society.”
