Cruden Energy Solutions successfully added another solar PV installation to their rapidly growing project portfolio for another North West based housing provider. The Cruden Energy Solutions team recently installed solar PV panels on the roof of Equity Housing Group's Head Office in Cheadle Hulme. The new panels will provide energy for Armitt House, where around 90 employees are based.
As well as reducing Equity's impact on the environment, solar energy will save the Stockport based housing provider around £1,000 per year on its electricity bill. It will also provide another income stream for the Group through Feed-in-Tariffs, that will be reinvested in homes and communities.
Despite the recent changeable weather, the new panels have already started to pay their way because they generate energy from daylight and not just sunlight. A smart meter fitted in the foyer of the building shows staff and customers exactly how much energy is being generated and saved.
Equity Chief Executive, David Fisher, said: "As an established housing provider, we are committed to being socially responsible and doing the right things in the right way. The use of renewable energy is a logical step for Equity in that it enables us to deliver excellent services whilst at the same time reducing our carbon footprint and achieving better value for money for our customers."
