Willow Wood Hospice in Ashton Under Lyne were delighted to receive a cheque for £500 raised by a charity football tournament led by Cruden Group Limited.

On Saturday 18th June 2011 Cruden hosted the charity football event at Manchester's Soccerdome to raise money for the local Hospice who desperately need funds for a new minibus for hospice patients.

The organisations involved are partners on the St Petersfield housing development in Ashton Under Lyne close to the hospice. The project team, working on the 31 unit scheme which is due for completion in January 2012, gathered eight teams together from Cruden Group, New Charter Housing Trust, GCM Structural Engineers and Leach Rhodes Walker Architects and raised £500 for the Hospice which was handed over last week to Sister Pat Hunter of Willow Wood Hospice.

The winning team was captained by Mark Simm of GCM Structural Engineers who played the New Charter Housing Trust in the final.

Event organiser Daniel Davidson, Trainee Quantity Surveyor at Cruden commented 'All involved were really pleased with the amount of money raised. The tournament was well received by all organisations involved and we will certainly consider another event in the future"

This is event is one on many events aim to support and invest in our local community through Cruden Groups 'Escalate in the Community' initiative.
