The emerging success of Cruden Homestyle's mixed tenure scheme at Hemsworth Gardens in Gorton, Manchester - which has seen the development of 16 properties for rent by the William Sutton Trust and a further 16 units for sale by Homestyle - has underpinned confidence in the latest of the company's
developments, at Knowsley Road in St Helens, close to the town's rugby league club ground.
To be marketed as 'Liberty Place', the Knowsley Road scheme is a £12million, 80-unit development comprising 14 houses and 12 apartments for sale through shared-ownership by Helena Housing. The remaining 30 houses and 24 apartments are to be sold on the open market by Cruden Homestyle.
Director Stuart Wardle is confident that the 80-week project will start on-site as early as next month. "Our aim is to continue to develop new homes in conjunction with social housing partners, on mixed tenure schemes providing residents and tenants to get on to the property ownership ladder." said Stuart.
"With current market difficulties young people especially are finding it more difficult than ever to get a foothold. We are investing in a number of new developments to assist first-time buyers and we are very keen to speak with social housing providers about other potential opportunities."
