Homes and Communities Agency's Delivery Partner Panel Announced

Homes and Communities Agency's Delivery Partner Panel Announced Picture

Cruden's recent delivery performance as developer and contractor played a significant part in Headcrown's success in gaining "Delivery Partner" status.

Stephen Morris, Cruden Chairman, recognises the step change that this opportunity offers Headcrown and, therefore, Cruden as one of Heacrown's key subsidiaries. "Being part of the HCA Delivery Partner Panel for the Northern Cluster will enable Headcrown to demonstrate its wide range of development and construction expertise in helping the HCA to accelerate the development of publicly owned land. This is an exciting time for Cruden as we will play a major role in this Headcrown-led initiative. We see the collaborative approach both within our companies and with other Partners as playing to Cruden's strengths."

The Delivery Partner Panel provides a vehicle for the HCA to identify development partners to build affordable housing on publicly owned land. The framework is also open for Local Authorities to use to develop their own land holdings. Headcrown bid for, and were successfully appointed to, the Northern Cluster which covers opportunities in the North West, North East, Yorkshire and Humberside.

The Delivery Partner Panel covers the full range of development activity including but not limited to the raising and/or deployment of development and construction finance, the design and construction of residential and other buildings (including infrastructure) and the marketing and sales/lettings of properties. The Panel also envisages the potential need for capabilities in other areas such as the design, construction and financing of elderly, specialist and high dependency accommodation, the refurbishment of historic buildings and conversions, where Headcrown has a real depth of experience and knowledge.

The Panel should act as a mechanism to promote more investment in affordable, intermediate and private housing in England and Cruden are excited to be a part of this opportunity.

This win paves the way for Headcrown not only to enter into joint ventures with the HCA and specific local Authorities to develop publicly owned land, but also to bid directly for HCA grants to finance affordable housing, working in conjunction with our RSL partners.

In the words of Eamonn Boylan, Director of New Ventures and Partnerships & Deputy Chief Executive at the Homes and Communities Agency: "The Delivery Partner Panel will speed up development on publicly-owned land and make it possible for more homes to be delivered where they are in demand. We have worked with Headcrown in the past and look forward to more partnership working for the benefit of communities around the country."
