As a partner contractor on the Manchester City Council frameworks 'Framework One 09' and 'Small Works' Cruden Property Services cleared snow over the weekend to ensure that many of Manchester's schools could open as normal on Monday morning.
Following the recent and prolonged 'Big Freeze' hundreds of schools all over the country have been forced to close their doors due to heavy snow falls and dangerously icy conditions.
On Saturday 9th January 2010 the Cruden teams pulled together with Manchester City Council to clear access routes for cars, pupils and teachers so they could return to school as normal after up to four days absence due to the bad weather.
Local Manchester schools in Chorlton and Whalley range included, Cavendish Primary, Ewing School, Lancastrian, The Birches, St Ambrose, Brawlow Hill Chorlton Park and Southern Cross.
Terry Burke, Head of Technical Services Group at Manchester City Council commented 'Pass on my thanks to all your staff who have worked brilliantly in helping us to get our schools open again. Your response has been simply outstanding and is the best example I have seen of Public Service delivery'
