The Cruden team enlisted the support of 'Ivor Goodsite' to inform the children of Lancasetrian School of the dangers of a building site and what they can expect to see and hear over the coming months as their school is transformed to a stare of the art special education needs facility.
Health and Safety is a paramount concern for Cruden on each of our sites, but its particularly important whilst working in a live school environment and letting children know the dangers of a building site is an essential part of our programme whilst constructing and refurbishing schools.
Lancasterian is a specialist school for communication and interaction dedicated to supporting children aged between 2 to 16 with physical and mental disabilities. Cruden started the schools refurbishment programme on 7th June 2010 and will complete within 52 weeks. There are six phases to complete the works within the building and external works, during which the school will remain operational.
The presentation was led by Contracts Manager Paul Maksymuk who with the help of Ivor explained what the children can expect to see and hear as the works progress and the importance of being safe around the construction site.
Leanne McLoughlin HSQE Manager was also introduced to the children as she will be a familiar face over the duration of the works. Another familiar face will be that of Site Manager Carl Lyons, but oddly Carl was no where to be seen during the presentation? He just missed his introduction to Ivor Goodsite arriving shortly after Ivor left, we're sure they would have made close friends!
