Cruden Group were named winner of the 'Community Award' at the Salford Business Awards for 2012.
The awards evening was held on Thursday 31st May 2012 at the new Salford City Red's stadium, a stunning new venue to celebrate Salford's achievements over the past 12 months. Sponsored by local Salford business TalkTalk Technology, the fifth annual awards ceremony was organised by the University of Salford, The Business Group Salford and Salford City Council.
Hosted by the BBC's Gordon Burns, the ceremony celebrated all types of businesses who operate in the Salford area. Following an after dinner speech from Economic Journalist and Dragons Den presenter Evan Davies the nine individual awards recognized both a runner up and category winner.
Cruden Group were delighted to be announced as winner of the 'Community Award sponsored by City West' for our investment in training, developing and investing in the Salford area.
The 'Community Award' rewards businesses who make a committed and proactive contribution to the enhancement and benefit of the community in which they operate. The judges looked at how Cruden has worked effectively with community groups, their commitment to continue their work in the future and how good management practice has maximized the benefit to the local community.
Salford's City Mayor, Ian Stewart, said: "This event is a great way to celebrate the success of businesses in Salford. One of my biggest priorities is to support local businesses and drive further inward investment to the city. Salford is very much open for business and we welcome inward investment. The city has so much to offer the business community, with our prime position at the centre of the region providing a whole host of varied opportunities. Celebrating our business successes shows how much business matters in Salford, and we remain committed to supporting companies who choose to locate in the city."
