Cruden were delighted to be announced as the 2012 winner of the Leadership and People Development Award at the North West Regional Construction Awards.
The lavish 'Roaring Twenties' themed awards ceremony was held at the Palace Hotel in Manchester on Thursday 31st May 2012. Hosted by Granada TV's Lucy Meacock, the sixth annual award ceremony welcomed guests from around the North West construction industry.
Over 150 nominations were entered in the award 10 categories this year which were shortlisted to 48 finalists with winners and highly commended nominations revealed on the evening.
Cruden Group were delighted to be named winner of the first award of the evening for the 'Leadership and People Development Award' for our unique training, development and community engagement initiative 'ESCALATE'.
The award looked for improvements resulting from leadership and training interventions including where these have been driven by an enlightened client. Cruden were able to demonstrate respect for the workforce and communities, whilst simultaneously winning respect from them through workforce development, skills and training, benchmarking, equality and diversity and improvements to health and safety and the working environment.
The team were also celebrating in the 'Integration and Collaborative Working' Award category with client Manchester City Council. Cruden were delighted to be one of the many companies involved in the collaborative delivery of the The Ghyll Head Outdoor Centre and Boat House project which was named category winner for 2012.
Roy Stewart, Operations Director at the Centre for Construction Innovation, said: "The calibre and range of entries gets better year on year, the previous five years have been a huge success; with past winners going on to achieve national accolades. I have no doubt that this year's awards will, once again, prove that the North West stands at the forefront of the construction industry".
As a regional winner Cruden Group will now be entered for the prestigious National Constructing Excellence Awards to be held in November 2012.
